How do I know if the tree in front of my house is a City tree?

Category: City Trees
Review your property survey to determine the exact boundaries of your property. San Mateo county has a Property Maps Portal available to the public: https://gis.smcgov.org/Html5Viewer/?viewer=raster This will help you identify if the tree is located within your property or if it falls within a public right-of-way. Assess the area where the tree is located. If it is positioned between the sidewalk and the street, or within a strip of land adjacent to the road, it is more likely to be on public property and potentially maintained by the City. Contact the City of Pacifica's Public Works Department to inquire about the ownership and maintenance responsibility of the tree. Provide us with the location details and any other relevant information to assist in our assessment.
